Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy coverage under the Expense Refund system

Through this coverage (consult the refund limits and percentages indicated in the general terms and conditions of the insurance policy), the insurer guarantees the refund of the healthcare expenses borne by the insured party on receiving any of the following healthcare services in Spain, from doctors or healthcare professionals not included on the insurer’s Healthcare Service Provider Lists:

 

 

 

 

 

  • Outpatient consultations conducted by specialists in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

  • Specialists in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation perform diagnostic or therapeutic procedures during consultations.

  • Outpatient physiotherapy sessions for the musculoskeletal system, conducted by licensed physiotherapists, provided they are prescribed by a specialist in Rehabilitation, Rheumatology, or Traumatology. Additionally, pelvic floor physiotherapy is covered when aimed at treating dysfunctions resulting from pregnancy and childbirth, as long as it has been previously authorized by the insurer.

  • Inpatient rehabilitation for the musculoskeletal, respiratory, and cardiac systems during hospitalization when necessary. Lymphatic drainage after oncological surgery involving lymph node dissection is also covered, both on an outpatient basis and during hospitalization, exclusively within the insurer’s medical network.

  • Functional recovery has been achieved, or the maximum possible recovery.

  • It becomes maintenance therapy, as well as outpatient respiratory rehabilitation, neuropsychological rehabilitation or cognitive stimulation, and occupational therapy.
